We've all heard it before, "Drink lots of water after your massage." Yes, this is wildly important but have you ever considered hydrating before working on your body?
Drinking lots of water before your appointment can help significantly in your massage therapy session. Muscles are much like play-dough fresh out of the package. When you're healthy and hydrated we, as therapists, can really hold on to them, move them around and make the proper adjustments that your body is asking you for! When you're not properly hydrated the muscles, again similar to play dough left out to dry, are much more difficult to manipulate.
Don't ditch the post-session hydration though! Drinking plenty of water after your treatment helps to keep those muscles nice and pliable AND helps the kidneys to process the various toxins moving through the body.
